Badru Mugerwa
I have worked on the African golden cat (“AGC”) in Uganda since 2013. My commitment led to the registration of a Community Based Organization (Embaka, https://www.savingafricangoldencat.com). Embaka engages local communities in AGC conservation. I created and coordinate a species range-wide conservation consortium (African Golden Cat Conservation Alliance (AGCCA)) which boasts 15 partners from 12 of the 21 known range countries. Efforts to expand are ongoing. I have guided on the establishment of AGC conservation projects in Kenya, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, South Sudan, Uganda and Cameroon. The inaugural meeting of the AGCCA is ongoing in Uganda.
