I am the Bill Travers Fellow at the University of Oxford’s WildCRU. I am Chair of the IUCN/SSC Canid Specialist Group (CSG) and Head of Conservation of the Born Free Foundation. I have 20 years of experience in the conservation of carnivore species, with a special interest on rare and threatened canids. I am the founder and Director of the Ethiopian Wolf Conservation Programme, established to protect the rarest canid in the world. My involvement in cat conservation includes managing Born Free’'s Satpura Landscape Tiger Project and a Darwin Initiative project on Andean cat transfrontier conservation. I supervise a WildCRU study of Pallas's cats in Mongolia and another one mapping African lion conflict hotspots.
