I have been working in the Eastern Ghats landscape of South India with an aim to conserve the small wild cat species in the region. I work closely with local communities, especially outside the protected areas where human-wildlife negative interactions occur, monitoring and providing education and intervention strategies. My current conservation efforts focus on developing and implementing effective threat-reduction programs for conservation of fishing cats and rusty-spotted cats. In many areas, I train volunteers by building capacity among local communities to transform them into empowered stakeholders for conservation of wildlife.
