I am a Cameroonian and a lecturer in the department of Forestry, University of Dschang, Cameroon. I hold a PhD in conservation biology and has been involved in research and conservation action to safeguard the African lion and other wildlife species. I assesses human wildlife conflicts, conducts environmental education and sensitization in local communities to come up with strategies that promote healthy coexistence between wildlife and humans. I am an active member of the Network of Lion Experts in Central and West Africa; the African Lion Working Group; IUCN CAT Specialist Group and also had served in IUCN SSC Steering Committee. I received grants from the Institute of Environmental Sciences, Leiden University and ANSTI during her PhD studies. Also, grants received from WWF EFN and the Operating Unit of the United Nations University Institute for Natural Resources in Africa have enabled me to build capacity in GIS and Remote Sensing application in biodiversity conservation. I am passionate about the African lion conservation. Prominent projects include the National Geographic Big Cat Initiative for conservation action towards lions in Waza National Park, WWF INNO for lion conservation and the Lion Recovery Fund for assessing lions in Waza National Park. I contributed in the development of the Regional Strategy for the Conservation of the lions in West and Central Africa and later in the National action plan for the Conservation of lions in Cameroon. In the same vein, in the drafting of the National Strategy for the mitigation of human-wildlife conflicts in Cameroon. During my term as Steering Committee member of the Species Survival Committee of IUCN, I was the Regional Vice Chair for Africa IUCN SSC for the 2016-2021.
