I have worked on the tigers in Bhutan from the lowlands of Royal Manas National Park to the high lands of Jigme Dorji National Park. As I had the opportunity of serving as the national coordinator for Bhutan’s tiger and snow leopard conservation, I got more passionate about their conservation. After tracking and monitoring the tigers, leopards and snow leopards using remote cameras for several years, and learning their predation on the farmers’ livestock, I have developed an interest in understanding their movement ecology and conflict pattern. For the first time in Bhutan, I have succeeded in tracking snow leopards and common leopards using radio collars to study their movement to find a solution to resolve human wildlife conflict with big cats. My interest is in bridging wildlife conservation with human livelihood and well-being and promoting conservation leadership in Bhutan and beyond.
