Annual Report 2005
2005  Full Book

The Annual Report for the year 2005 from the Noah's Arc Centre for the Recovery of Endangered Species (NACRES), an NGO active in Georgia and South Caucasus: It includes the results of one-year monitoring for the leopard in Vashlovani National Park. The whole year yielded only four images of a leopard, which was the same male (called Noah) in all four cases. The images were taken in spring and winter with nearly 7 months inbetween, where the traps took no photos. As there were also no other traces or tracks found in that time, it is possible that Noah left the National Park in spring-autumn. Tracking showed that he moved mainly along peaks, which enables the animal to visually control its surroundings, and in the ravines, enabling it to move unnoticed. Other projects concerned the brown bear and the _Capra_ species in Georgia.
