The Kerinci Seblat Tiger Protection project has been launched in 2000 to support the Indonesian Government's commitment regarding protection of the Sumatran tiger. The long-term aim is to develop an effective field response to tiger poaching and to maintain a sustainable tiger population in the Kerinci Seblat National Park. The main activieties of the project comprise: 1) Intelligence investigations 2) Forest patrols 3) Law enforcement 4) Interventions to mitigate effects of human-tiger conflict.
