This document is part of the Status Report 'Balkan lynx population history, recent knowledge on its status and conservation needs' (Breitenmoser-Wuersten et al. 2001). It contains a description of the historical and present conservation status and distribution of the lynx and its prey species in Bulgaria. The lynx' legal status, hunting, poaching, and human-wildlife conflicts are discussed. Threats to its survival and the condition of the habitat are assessed. |
