Luis Pacheco
Universidad Mayor de San Andrés
Member since 2005.
My main interests are the conceptual and practical aspects of conservation. My research focuses mainly on the ecology of vertebrates (oncilla, culpeo fox, Andean cat, and puma among carnivores). Most of my present work deals with the conflicts between wildlife conservation and human activities; especially between carnivores and livestock. However, I am also working on the ecological basis of sustainable development. I am currently Professor and Researcher at the Institute of Ecology of Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (Bolivia), and a Senior Researcher at Centro de Estudios en Biología Teórica y Aplicada (BIOTA).
