Shakeel Ahmed
I am a biologist working in the Environment - Agency Abu Dhabi, UAE in Terrestrial & Marine Biodiversity Sector over the last 10 years. I gained my Masters and MPhil in Zoology and have worked in a range of research projects of government and non-government organizations. As an Assistant Scientist, my role is designing and conducting projects on the assessment and monitoring of specific high priority species (endemic and threatened species, flagship species) and their habitats. I have held different talks, presentations and documentaries on wildlife monitoring and public awareness. Carried out extensive camera trapping in different habitats for Arabian sand cat. Conducting phylogenetic and epidemiological studies and over all research and monitoring on the Arabian sand cat after it was rediscovered from 10 years of absence in the western region of Abu Dhabi Emirate.
