Member since 2009.
My interest in big cats started when I volunteered with the pioneer team that established the Arabian Leopard Survey in Oman. I officially joined the team in 2002 and ever since I have been working to prevent the extinction of this critically endangered subspecies. I lead field research, including camera trap surveys, to better understand the natural history of the Arabian leopard and I work to raise public awareness and engage local communities in leopard conservation. I’ve recently co-authored the first book on this subspecies ‘The Arabian Leopards of Oman’ and in 2019 I completed the first comprehensive genetic study of the Arabian leopard as part of my PhD study at the University of Kent, UK.
