I am a biologist working in conservation of Iranian wildlife for the last 15 years. My first professional encounter with large cats occurred at the occasion of my BSc thesis work on the status of the Asiatic cheetah in Iran. Since that time I have participated in numerous monitoring, exploration and applied conservation efforts for Asiatic cheetah and Persian leopard. I am an advocate of field work and pragmatic conservation. As general manager of the Asiatic Cheetah Conservation Project in Iran and scientific director of the Persian Wildlife Heritage Foundation, an Iranian NGO, I am trying to save large cats in Iran from extinction.
