Dudley, J.P.
Book review: Issues and priorities for mammal conservation
2002  Conservation Biology (16): 1169-1171

The general subject matter of this book is aimed at fostering better understanding of the application of various aspects of conservation biology theory to the thorny policy-setting and political processes of setting national and international priorities for the conservation of threatened and endangered mammals and their habitats. The principal organizing themes for this volume are (1) the importance of mammals as icons and foci for biodiversity conservation efforts and (2) contrasts between major issues in the conservation of mammals in the United Kingdom versus those from various other areas of the globe ( principally Asia, Africa, and Latin America).
