Bouch‚ et al. [1] recommend the continued reliance on sport hunting of African lions (_Panthera leo_) for the conservation of the W-Arly-Pendjari Protected Area complex (WAP).However, their survey techniques are inappropriate for providing precise estimates of lionpopulation size at the scale used in their model, and their suggested quotas are excessive; consequently,their conclusions are unsupported. |
