As the Air India flight from New Delhi to Dehradun flew through the dense, dark and turbulent rain clouds, I sensed as if I was flying through a dense rainforest canopy. When the flight descended in the evening, the numerous lights in the villages along the foothills quivered like small forest fires! I felt it was good to be back in the lap of the mountains and eagerly awaited my journey to the Gangotri National Park in the Uttarakhand, one of the most dedicated forest officers in the country. |
