The Iberian lynx _Lynx pardinus_ is considered as the most endangered felid in the world (Nowell and Jackson 1996). Recently, this species has been classified as "Critically Endangered" by the World Conservation Union, thus recognizing that its extinction will be likely in the short-term if suitable conservation measures are not urgently adopted (IUCN 2006). |
