Can participatory research and action reduce puma-human conflict in the high Andes of Chile?

In the high Andes of Chile, the indigenous Aymara people have coexisted for centuries with the puma. The Aymara cultivate quinoa and potatoes and raise alpaca, llamas, and, less frequently, sheep, for meat and wool. In the last decade, their coexistence with pumas has been disrupted by an increase in livestock depredation.
