The Iberian lynx in high danger of extinction and actually only survives in Spain and Portugal. In Spain the species is included into the Catalog of Endangered Species (R.D. 439/90) in the category of "In danger of extinction" which suggests that it should be an objective of immediate conservation actions. In accordance with the Plan of Action of the IUCN, it is the most endangered felid of the world, and finally, the Red Book of Vertebrates of Spain consideres it "in danger of extinction" equally as the Red Book of Vertebrates of Portugal.
