Already, many species worldwide have been driven to extinction by man. The London Convention of 1933 put some species under protection but not the large carnivores. Although the leopard may be considered a nuisance through its attacks on livestock and humans, it also has its uses. It is the primary predator on baboons which raid the fields of local farmers. It should be protected.
