1918 Journal of the Bombay Natural History Society (25): 491-493 | |
A perusal of the Oriental Sporting Magazine for the ten years 1869 to 1879 furnishes material for notes on various subjects, and these are here collected as being likely to interest some of the readers of our Journal. 1) Weights and measurements of tigers, 2) Various notes as to tigers, 3) Poisoning tigers, and 4) In the days of the Emperor Akbar. Attached is a response on capturing tigers by the use of glue as practiced in the days of Emperor Akbar, which was published in Vol. 25, No. 4 of the same journal; and a response on further measurements from the Oriental Magazine from 1830-1833 with a question on if it's possible to age tigers by the number of lobes in its liver, which was published in Vol. 26, No. 2 of the same journal. |
