Zoonotic parasites of bobcats around human landscapes
2012  Journal of Clinical Microbiology (50): 3080-3083

We analyzed _Lynx rufus _fecal parasites from California and Colorado, hypothesizing that bobcats shed zoonotic parasites around human landscapes. _Giardia duodenalis_, _Cryptosporidium_, _Ancylostoma_, _Uncinaria_, and _Toxocara cati _were shed. _Toxoplasma gondii _serology demonstrated exposure. _Giardia _and _Cryptosporidium _shedding increased near large human populations. Genotyped _Giardia _may indicate indirect transmission with humans.
