Costa, D.S.; Paula, T.A.R.; da Matta, S.L.P.
Cat, cougar, and jaguar spermatogenesis: a comparative analysis
2006  Brazilian Archives of Biology and Technology (49): 725-731

This work presents a comparative review about the spermatogenic process in cats (_Felis domestica_), jaguars (_Panthera onca_) and cougars (_Puma concolor_), with emphasis on testicular biometry, gonadossomatic index, volumetric proportion of testicular parenchyma components, tubular diameter, seminiferous epithelial height and seminiferous tubule length. It was an approach of the differences among the cell proportions that allowed conclusions about the overall yield of spermatogenic process and Sertoli cell index in three feline species.
