2000  Full Book

The project _Lynx and Sheep in the North-western Alps _was initiated so as to avoid shooting an non-damaging resident lynx and thereby causing a counterproductive effect. The project's three main tasks were: - Analysis of the temporal and geographical distribution of the damages to domestic animals in relation to the appearance of lynx. - Establishment of criteria to identify "specialist" lynx, with a view to regulating the granting of shooting permits. - Development and testing of measures to protect sheep flocks from attacks. This report details the temporal and geographical distribution of attacks by lynx on livestock.
