The Sundarbans is a unique marshy tract where tigers, deer, boars, venomous snake live in a fantastic bending of beauty. It is the biggest tract of naturally occurring estuarine forest in the world, covering 6017 km2 in Bangladesh. The Bengal tiger occurs throughout the Sundarbans and preys mainly on spotted deer & wild boar. Various theories have been postulated with the man-eating behavior of the Sundarbans tiger. Tiger-human conflict as found in the Sundarbans for the last eleven years can give us some behavior pattern of the Bengal tiger.
