IUCN Red List of Italian Vertebrates
2013  Full Book

The main objectives of this research are: 1) the creation of an expert network for the evaluation of the extinction risk of vertebrate species in Italy; 2) the evaluation of the extinction risk for all terrestrial vertebrates and one group of marine vertebrates; 3) the creation of a baseline for future evaluations of the trends in biodiversity conservation in Italy. The assessments of extinction risk are based on the IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria and the most updated guidelines. The assessments have been carried out in workshops with taxonomic focus and involving experts covering different regions of Italy, and have been evaluated according to the IUCN standards.
