This National _Panthera onca_ Management Plan is a guide for jaguarete conservation in Paraguay through the collection of data on biology and conservation status of the species at the national level, and an action plan to direct efforts to ensure the viability of healthy wild jaguar populations in Paraguay. We hope it will be useful for life technicians wilder, biologists, veterinarians, communicators, decisionmakers, educators, for the peoples who live in the habitat of the jaguar, professionals and non-professionals of all areas that seek to collaborate in the vast task of Conservation of species in nature. This management plan is the result of collaborative effort of the Ministry of the Environment, WCS-Paraguay and Itaipu Binational, with the participation of universities, NGOs focused on conservation, the productive sector, entities government and the general public. It has a key role, since the jaguarete is in danger of extinction at the national level, threatened by the loss of habitat and its connectivity, its hunting and that of its prey, the lack of effective implementation of public policies aimed at their conservation the insufficient research for their conservation management, lack of environmental education and climate change. It is based on the compilation of the existing science and experience on the jaguar in our country and the union collaborative of the various entities for the delineations of the Action Plan for the conservation of the species through participatory workshops. This document contains the biological and natural history data of the species, cultural values, the background of research and conservation projects, the national distribution, conservation status and framework existing legal. Regarding the Action Plan, 5 lines of action: ecoregional research and vision, policy public, in situ conservation, ex situ Conservation and, education, communication, awareness and tourism. As well as defining the monitoring and evaluation of activities by part of those responsible; and sets out recommendations for the financing of these activities. It is expected that this Management Plan will contribute to the implementation of these activities and the conservation of populations viable and connected Panthera onca nationwide, in harmony with productive landscapes and including all sectors of Paraguayan society
