The publication of the National Puma Conservation Plan is the fulfilment of an objective gestated in Temuco in 2008, whose interest it was to begin an inter-institutional work and raise the importance of consider the conservation of this species as an interdisciplinary issue of national character. This is the first step of a long journey that invites you to participate with the SAG, CONAF and CONAMA, academic institutions, the private sector, large and small breeders, non-governmental organizations, and to all those who see in this initiative the opportunity to contribute to the conservation of the wildlife of our country. The development of this Plan and the fulfilment of the objectives of each one its programs depend on an integrated, professional and committed work of all the actors involved, which will be reflected in a greater knowledge of this species, in concrete actions for its protection, a greater approach of wildlife to the community and a contribution to agricultural development |
