National action plan for the conservation of the lion in Senegal

The vision for lion conservation in West Africa is that the African region of the West sustainably manages its natural resources'. As for the aim, it is to: 'To ensure a conservation and sustainable management of the lion in West Africa'. In line with the overall vision in the sub-region, the vision of the action plan for Conservation of the lion in Benin is that Senegal sustainably manages its natural resources. The aim of the strategy is to ensure the conservation and sustainable management of the lion in Senegal. As at the subregional level, the main threats identified that threaten lion conservation in Senegal are: habitat degradation and loss, decrease in natural prey populations, and human-wildlife conflict.
