Death of vertebrates due to being run over in the district road network of Tambogrande, Piura
2018  Full Book

When a road network is installed, it fragments the habitat of vertebrates, what when moving from one place to another, are run over by vehicles that transit the road networks. The death of vertebrates was determined by running over the district road network of Tambogrande, Piura. It has two road networks (transects 01 and 02) that pass through cultivation areas, dry forests and populated centers. It was carried from January to June 2018, by motorcycle travel at constant speed of 25 km / h from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in samplings with a spatula and gloves, to the corresponding berm; date, hour, kilometer, coordinates, common name of the species, sex, age group, condition and zones of occurrence were recorded. A descriptive statistic and the kilometric index of abundance were made, and I applied Chi-squared to determine if there is a relationship between the taxonomic classes and zones of occurrence with transects; and he elaborated Kernel maps, showing the sections with more over run. 437 vertebrates were found run over in 04 classes, 12 orders, 23 families, 20 genera and 29 species. The Mammalia class with 226 run-over vertebrates, with _Pseudalopex sechurae_ being the most affected with 107 individuals, Birds with 127, Reptilia 69 and Amphibia 15. 60.18% of the vertebrates were run over in cultivation areas. An average of 9 individuals were run over by a week. In the 91.5 km of the transects, an IKA of 0.198 Ind / km was obtained.
