Hendrichs, H.
The status of the tiger Panthera tigris (Linn‚, 1758) in the Sundarbans Mangrove Forest (Bay of Bengal)
1975  Saeugetierkundliche Mitteilungen (23): 161-199

The paper presents the result of a 3-month field study in the Sundarbans mangrove forest, carried out to obtain a preliminary picture of the ecological situation and the man-killing behaviour of the Sundarbans tiger. A further object was to devise and test methods to be applied in a later long-term study aiming at a quantitative analysis of the tiger behaviour and looking for ways to conserve the tiger in the area, in spite of its man-killing habit, along with human utilisation of the forest.
