Le lynx bor‚al (Lynx lynx) en France: statut actuel et problŠmes de gestion
2002 Conference Proceeding
In France, following several reintroductions, the lynx currently inhabits three principal distinct mountainous areas, In the Jura, the lynx occupies a continuous area covering nearly the whole forest range. In the Vosges range, the lynx presence was noted quasi-permanently in some areas since 1989, whereas for other zones, it was not notes, or only in an occasional way. In the Alps, evidences of presence were found over all the principal ranges, but no are of continuous presence can be highlighted. The damages on sheep are primarily listed in the Jura range where this prey is extremely vulnerable. On the long term, it appeared that, in spite of absence of herd guarding methods, lynx attacks on sheep remained very few on a regional scale. |
