Hunt is on for Tin Fu's tiger
1983  Newspaper

Agriculture and Fisheries Department officers have turned big game hunters after reports of a tiger in the New Territories. Residents of the tiny village of Tin Fu reported hearing loud roars late Friday. But nothing was sighted, except a few stray tomcats and some mysterious large paw-prints close to the village. Since the turn of the century, Hong Kong has been plagued by reports of rogue tigers terrorizing villages, killing livestock and stalking lone hikers. In March 1915, an 8« foot tiger killed an Indian constable and mauled a British colleague at Sheung Shui before a stream of bullets brought the beast to earth. An Agriculture and Fisheries Department spokesman said the chances of the latest reports being true were slim. Only time will tell, however, if Hong Kongs latest suspected tiger is made of paper.
