Spacing patterns and activity rhythms of a wildcat (Felis silvestris) in Italy
1993  Conference Proceeding

Within a research programme on the ecology of small carnivores in Tuscanny (central Italy), a female wildcat (Felis silvestris), about 1 year old at capture, was radio-tracked from April 21 1991 to March 11 1992. This paper reports on a preliminary analysis of the annual and seasonal activity and spacing patterns. The study was conducted in a low hill region (alt 150-470 m). Vegetation cover is mainly Mediterranean deciduous forest, with large pine plantations, small areas of old growth forest (Castanea sativa, Quercus cerris) and grassland.
