Myers, N.
The Cheetah _Acinonyx jubatus_ in Africa - Report of a survey in Africa from the Sahara southwards
1975  Series

This survey was instituted to assess the present status of the cheetah in Africa. The principal aims have been to review the cheetah's distribution and numbers, and to evaluate these in the light of threats such as exploitation by the international fur trade and the extensive and intensive modification of cheetah habitat. Special emphasis has been placed on trends and projections of land-use patterns in Africa, in order to determine dynamic aspects of the cheetah's status. As a result of the investigation, conservation measures believed to be more effective than any hitherto applied could be suggested.
