Few animals have shared a longer or more intimate association with man than the cheetah. But, unlike the dog which in this time has reproduced at an alarming rate, captive cheetahs have hardly bred at all. In view of the continuing decline in wild cheetah numbers, preservation of the species may depend upon its captive breeding. |
