Effects of control programs on social and genetic structure of carnivores

Since our evolutionary development as meat-eaters, humans and carnivores have been intrinsically bound in competition for prey. The development of domestication brought humans and carnivores into more immediate conflict: reducing livestock losses to large and mid-sized carnivores has been on of the most serious problems confronting livestock herders.
