Pleistocene leopards (_Panthera pardus_) from Java and southern China
1973 Proceedings of the Koninkl.Nederl.Akademie ven Wetenschappen - Amsterdam (B76): 37-49
South Chinese leopard tooth finds of presumably Middle Pleistocene age show greater similarity with the recent subspecies _Panthera pardus sinensis_ (South China, Rear India) than with other recent and fossil leopard forms of South and Southeast Asia, with somewhat less differentiation. Thus, an autochthonous evolution of the leopards of this area is likely. |
