Death of an Amur leopard in Kedrovya Pad Zapovednik

A series of very unfortunate incidences led to the death of an Amur leopard in Kedrovya Pad Zapovednik in the Russian Far East in the spring of 1996. Since the Hornocker Wildlife Institute is committed to conservation of the Amur leopard, and since we were involved in the incident, we feel an obligation to notify you of the circumstances surrounding the recent poaching incident.
