With its vast territory and natural environment, China is a country with one of the most diverse wildlife resources bases in the world. There are 4,800 species of vertebrates, accounting for over 10% of the all vertebrates in the world, and 32,800 species of higher plants, accounting for more than 12% of the world total. Among the wildlife species listed in the CITES Appendices, 1,700 species are found in China, Enhancing the conservation of wildlife resources and controlling illegal wildlife trade in this country, is of great significance for global species conservation.
