This document is a report on the status and threats of tigers throughout their range, divided by subspecies. Most information is given for India. The report is based on replies to a questionnaire circulated to officials and non-officials of the 14 Asian countries with tiger populations in 1993. For each subspecies habitat, tiger reserves, poaching pressure, legal protection, adequacy of protection and requirements for improvement of conservation are listed. |
