In a mature, multi-stratal tropical forest, arboreal herbivores make up the bulk of the standing crop biomass of nonvolant mammals. On the other hand, second growth forests and areas subjected to seasonal drought show lower arboreal biomass values with the standing crop biomass of terrerstrial mammals reaching high levels in the Llanos. |
