In most west European countries the Northern lynx Felis l. Lynx has been exterminated but in Czechoslovakia they still live in the wild. In 1935 only about 50 lynxes lived in the country (for this purpose including sub-Carpathian Ruthenia) and in that year steps were taken to protect them. |
