I have been reading about our Symposium at Sakkarbaug in various publications. Being in the conservation profession I am deeply concerned with the future of Asiatic lion, but my feelings are different. It seems to me that captive breeding aspect of Asiatic lion conservation is being over-emphasized. The real problem is finding an alternate home for Gir lions. I wish we all could consentrate more on this aspect of conservation efforts. |
