New Locality records for some Mammals of West Malaysia
1971  Journal of Mammalogy (52): 429-432

The mammalian fauna of West (Peninsular) Malaysia is probably better known than that of the rest of Southeast Asia, partly because of the early interest and efforts of local museum workers, particularly those of the Federated Malay States Museum and the Raffles Museum (now Singapore National Museum). These museums were established during colonial times, yet many specimens were stored locally, much of the research was done locally, and results were published mostly in local journals. The Federated Malay States Museum was destroyed during World War II, and most of the specimens that were salvaged were sent to the British Museum (Natural History) in London.
