Yongzu, Z.
Distribution of mammalian species in China
1997  Full Book

Altough the advanced study of mammalogy in China made some progress in the 1920s and 1930s, it had a very weak base and unfortunately, was disrupted during the Anti-Japanese war. It was not until the 1950s, after the founding of the People's Republic of China, that mammalogy was established soundly and developed rapidly. However, much fundamental work is still deficient, such as systematic information on mammal distribution, which is essential for many aspects of study.
