Chapter about the lynx in Europe, especially the balkan region. The European continent was covered in ancient times by groves which stretched from the Atlantic coast of the Iberian Peninsula to the Ural Mountains. The dense and dense forests are the ideal habitat for all large carnivores, bears, wolves and lynx. The lynx then covered virtually the entire European continent, except for the northern part of Scandinavia, the narrower coastal strip along the Atlantic in present-day Denmark, Germany and Portugal, the Mediterranean islands and southern Greece. |
