A skull of _Machairodus giganteurs_ (Felidae, Mammalia) from the Late Miocene of Turkey
2004  Neues Jahrbuch fr Geologie und Pal„ontologie / Monatshefte (2004): 95-110

A skull and associated mandible from the upper level of kemiklitepe is one of the most complete known speciemens of _Machairodus_. It is distinctly more derived than specimens from the lower level. Cladistic analysis of this genus does not allow recognition of well-defined clades, but suggests instead gradual acquisition of the cranial and dental specializations that characterise _Homotherium._
