Notes on the feeding habits of the leopard in the alpine zone of Mount Kenya
2004  Mammalia (68): 61-63

We present data on the feeding habits of the leopard in the upper alpine zone of Mt Kenya, Rebulic of Kenya. During a 4-month period, we collected 44 leopard scats along valley bottoms, slopes, and on tracks passing over the ridges between the valleys. Additionally, we recorded leopard kills. Rock hyrax was the most frequent prey, followed by grooved-toothed rats. Another prey species, which we verified as a kill was the colobus monkey. The only large mammal species which we verified in the diet of the leopard was the common duiker.
