Depredation of domestic animals by large cats in Brazil
2004 Human Dimensions of Wildlife (9): 329-330
The mortality of Jaguar (_Panthera onca_) and Puma (_Puma concolo_r) inflicted by ranchers as a way to control the depredation of domestic animals is presently one of the main factors responsible for the reduction of the remaining populations of these species in Brazil. The purpose of this paper is to outline some of the problems and offer some possible solutions for debate. |
