All felid species are highly specialized carnivores, and their feeding habits are influenced by a number of ecological constraints including such characteristics as abundance, distribution, activity patterns, and social structure of prey. Behaviourally, many felids live a solitary existence. Thre process of scavenging may or may not constrain predation by large felines, depending on the abundance of scavengers. not surprisingly, few studies have documented these complex interactions. Because scavenging is a poorly understood process, here we report jaguar scavenging behavior.
